On the afternoon of May 12, 2008, an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit Sichuan Province, a mountainous region in Western China. As of last week, 69,163 are confirmed dead, 374,142 injured, with 17,445 listed as missing. The earthquake also left about 4.8 million people homeless. In the wake of the powerful earthquake, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has committed $100,000 to Caritas, Hong Kong's relief efforts. Financial support is urgently needed for the relief efforts. More details can be found at http://crs.org/china/sichuan-earthquake/

All the proceeds from the party will be donated to CRS. Checks may be made payable to: Catholic Relief Services with memo: Chinese Earthquake fund.
